This is an initial "out of the box" review. Reserving 1 star for the future range review. Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Hammers Optics. I purchased this scope to replace the pitiful one that came on my Gamo Big Cat 1300 Nitro Piston. In this review, I will address some of the "concerns" others seem to have had with this product. The scope arrived well packaged in a better than average box. First, to put things in perspective, consider what the scope is not. It's not a multi-hundred dollar Hawke or Leupold. It's a sub $60.00 scope. That said, what you get is really impressive. The build quality of this product is very impressive. The scope is heavy. Something needed for the unique shock/recoil characteristics of magnum spring piston air rifles. The optics are quite good. Very good clarity. The mil-dot reticle focuses perfectly. Same for the AO and zoom. The objective, ocular, and power ring all move very smooth and are quite snug preventing unintentional movement. I'll review the windage and elevation adjustments at the range. Addressing some other reviewer's comments/concerns: Some have noted that the single piece mount engagement rails seems too rounded or not sharp enough to engage the receiver's dovetail grooves. While they are certainly not machined the sharpest I've seen, I experienced no issues engaging the 11mm dovetail on the Gamo. My biggest complaint about the mount is the fact that it just needs a little more height. The objective bell just does clear the receiver with the cover on. Also, it's just low enough to pick up the blurred image of the large barrel shroud found on many Gamo's as well as other air rifle manufacturers. The image appears as a small blurred spot right at the bottom of the sight image. This may be annoying to the point of distraction for some. If you'll concentrate on the reticle crosshair, it's easy enough to ignore. Hammer's would be better served to equip these scopes with the taller mount available on their website. Durability: I have found that many scopes fail simply because of improper mounting especially when the retention pin is not properly seated in the receiver hole. I am also not a fan of individual mounts for a spring or nitro piston air rifle. IMHO, they allow too much movement. That said, there is always going to be a certain number of "lemons" on mass produced products imported from Asia. By the way this scope is built, I believe it would be the exception. To this point though, I personally telephoned and spoke to a representative at Hammer's Optics in CA. I was assured that all their scopes carried a lifetime warranty to the original owner (abuse not being included of course). Yes, it involves packing up the scope and mailing it, but he assured me that a new unit would be sent when the old one received. The fact that they do have a physical store front and a live representative does help reassure me though. I hope someone who has had a recent failed scope puts this to the test for all concerned. As far as not holding zero or other durability issues, I will follow up with a range report in a few months.
WOW and WOW

Had scope for about a month now and love it. I replace the stock scope on my Game Silent Stalker. HUGE improvement! The clarity is unbelievable, I can use the scope to move up or down the tree and spot the hair on a squirrels tail as they try to maneuver away. I have it zeroed in at 30 yards with groupings within an inch. Make sure, you turn the stop key pin on the scope mount all the way down which requires you to remove the scope which then required extra steps to level the scope back on the mount. Or it might be possible to do so if the pin is already out far enough. High powered air rifles destroy scopes and you loose accuracy if this pin is not all the way down. One piece mount is much more sturdier compared to the two piece, a little heavier but holds scope solid. Overall LOVE THE SCOPE! Thanks to all the other reviewers on this product ,it helped me make my decision. I like to do my research before making purchases. The only benefit I can see to get the 9X40 would be the eye relief otherwise for me it was not worth the extra money. GREAT SCOPE!
Forgot to mention the Mil Dot rectile...HUGE feature...I can use the lower mil dot when shooting lighter pellets.

Won't hold zero, unfortunately.

I really wanted to like this scope. The optics are fantastic, bright and clear throughout the range of magnification. The yardage markings on the objective bell are dead on accurate. The one piece mount is sturdy and impressive. But that's all for nothing, as it would not hold zero on my .22 Diana 34 ( by no means a "Magnum" springer...) For more than 5 shots. So, back it goes. Too bad, because optically, it puts the Leapers/UTG BugBuster (I own three of those) to shame. But the reviews made it pretty clear it was a crap-shoot as to whether or not you were going to get a good one, so for the price, I rolled the dice. Came up Snake Eyes. Won't be reordering this, as I don't feel like playing Airgun Scope Roulette, yet again. Been there, done that.
Great scope mounted on airgun

This scope was purchased for a hatsan 95 22 cal air rifle. They seem to be tougher on scopes than powder burning rifles. So far, I have a couple hundred rounds shot with it. It holds zero very well. The optics are clear at the focal distance. Focus is a little difficult to adjust while looking down the scope. The rifle stock is a bit long as is the scope. The result is a long reach to make the adjustment. A rifle with the scope mounted further back may make this acceptable. The mount is very solid but on my dove tail, it was tilted a bit to the right. I took the mount off and turned it around and re-mounted. That centered it along the axis of the barrel much better. I suspect that both the dove tail and the mount were a little bit off so rotating the mount split the difference in the errors. In air rifles, the impact of the piston shakes screws loose. I had to add some loctite to the mounting screws in the base to keep them from getting loose and backing out. In general, I am very happy with the purchase and hope to put many rounds down range with it. The little extra I had to put in to make this work on my rifle was mainly due to the unique properties of airguns. The only think I can't swear to is the offset on the mount. I don't have another gun with a dove tail so it's a crap shoot whether you will see this in your application or not. I would recommend it and would purchase it again.

Mounted on Benjamin Titan .22 and wow what difference from the CenterPoint that came with the rifle. Really clear and after sighting in is dead on accurate just ask the squirrels in my .... well okay they might have a different opinion. Mounting is very stout as is the build quality, adjustments are very easy and the image and crosshairs are clear as a bell. Recommend it for any airgun.
