These definitely opened up my vented snare, which is usually played quite loudly. Great response and sound.

I have heard so much about how great these snare wires are that I decided to give them a try. I had been using the original wires that came with my Ludwig Supraphonic 402 with a clear Diplomat snare side head. I always thought it sounded good but some of the wires were starting to get bent and I was starting to have a hard time getting rid of the weird buzzing sounds I was starting to get. I also was finding the snare wires had to be tightened quite a bit tighter than I liked to eliminate these annoying sounds. I decided to change the snare side reso head and went with an Evans 500 for a beefier sound as they are 5 mils thick and the Diplomats are 3 mil. I decided to change the snare wires too and thought I would try the PureSound Blaster 20 strands because I had heard they were really good. After putting on the new head and wires I was amazed at how good they sounded. I like having the snare wires not too tight but I crank the reso head up pretty tight. It had just the right amount of snare sound without too much buzz and I found that when playing with my band, there was much less sympathetic buzz from the bass guitar and other instruments. I would highly recommend these wires to anyone, they really sound great and are miles ahead of the standard wires that come with the snare drums.I have now put these wires on my other snares and they all sound much better. Love these wires!
Puresound is just that.

They Sound Amazing, I can definitely hear a difference. They also look really nice. Its a true, nice little upgrade to any stock wires.
Worth every penny

I had never changed the snare wire on my Tama birch snare. With this snare wire, and brand new Evans snare head (HD vented snare, and hazy snare size) my snare sounds amazing. Like, incredible. Super poppy and sensitive. It sounds 100% better at higher volumes, as promised. Worth every penny.
I puchased a buttload of these when they were $7 a pop

I just checked the price and they're back up there to $20 apiece! I was lucky to snag a bunch of extras when they were on sale for $7. Still, at $20 they're well worth the money. If you're snare is lacking that "crack" it could be your el-cheapo snare wires. If you have strange buzzing or are breaking a lot of snare wires try these ones out. They'll give your snares some much needed boost!
I have various PureSound wires on all of my snares-- you definitely get what you pay for. Skimping on snare wires is just one way you can shoot yourself in the foot.
