I purchased this quality bald cap at an attractive price. If you don't have experience applying prosthetics and makeup, expect to spend 30 minutes or more applying the bald cap. You'll need spirit gum, spirit gum remover, liquid latex, cuticle scissors, makeup, and preferably makeup powder. If you have dark and/or thick hair, expect to see color through the cap. To give you an idea of how it looked: After applying enough makeup, I convinced my girlfriend that i shaved my head to be Freddy Krueger for Halloween. She wasn't any wiser until she felt it.

Pros:
Fits head nicely.
Above average quality for a bald cap.
Convincing after makeup application.

Cons:
These bald caps are sold in a variety of sizes, the product description did not specify which one this was. So, the cap was a tight fit on my huge head, but I managed to make it work.

Although this bald cap does not apply as seamlessly as the photo, I think that it's a pretty good cap. I will add the disclaimer that I am not a costume makeup professional and merely used this cap for my Halloween costume.

I have long hair (halfway down my back) and was able to pin it to my head and cover all the hair using this cap. The main problem with the cap is that when you stretch it, it does have the propensity to tear. I had it rip near my ear area after cutting it to fit around my ears (which you will have to do because the cap does not have ear holes). I was able to mostly glue it back together, but it didn't look as nice with the rip. Other than the ripping, my only other complain is that the edges ripple when you use glue. I used spirit gum, which is costume makeup glue, and the cap required multiple layers of the gum to stay in place. It began to ripple around the edges (shown in first photo) while the glue was drying. It wasn't that noticeable to other people, but it did bother me because I am a costume perfectionist.

Overall, though, I think that these flaws are inherent to any bald cap and I would buy this again in a heartbeat if I ever need to portray a smooth-headed person again. It was able to be covered with makeup well and everyone loved my costume.

For the pictures, I attached a reference photo showing how much hair I have, a picture of the bald cap after makeup was applied to match my skin tone, and the final result.

I thought this cap worked perfectly for my use. Was not too thin and didn't rip that easily like other reviewers said. I was even able to reuse it the next day! (Did 2 days at a comic con). In my photo - I glued the bald cap to my forehead with spirit gum, painted over it with the same materials I painted my face, and even used spirit gum and pins to attach the wig to the top of the bald cap. Of course I expected I would need to trim around my ears and the very back, but better to have too much material than not enough coverage. It worked really well - two whole days!

Don't expect to come out looking as bald as the guy in the photos without significant work. All you get here is the bald cap. You need to buy separate make-up and then blend it to match your skin tone.

You also need some adhesive to make the cap stick to your skin. I definitely recommend Spirit Gum. Sounds funky but worked well and washed off easily.

My biggest problem was that when I trimmed and put the cap on it looks smooth, but I needed my wife to peel up the back to apply the Spirit Gum to prevent it from slipping - and when she rolled it back down she did not pull it tight again, so I had wrinkles on top that didn't look natural.

Expect to spend another $20-30 (or more) on make-up and Spirit Gum and allow 1-2 hours to apply the make-up and it can look really good. 1-2 hours is a honest recommendation because you need to apply, let it dry, then touch it up.

This product worked FANTASTIC for my purpose - it has held up to substantial handling. I used it to create a costume to look like "Home Alone" burglar Harry who had his stocking cap and head torched by Kevin. The coloring on this bald cap is a bit of a weird shade of flesh/pink - but I painted it, used make-up, glued feathers to it, sewed it into a black stocking cap, middle school kids touched it all day to check if it was my real head and handled it ALOT and took it on and off many times. It never ripped or felt like it was close to falling apart! IF I ever need a bald cap again, this will be my purchase!
