I purchased this item thinking I was going to get better performance from my 2006 SLE Sierra 4.8 engine. Before finishing the installation of the cold air intake I went ahead and cleaned the Mass air flow sensor which was a little dirty. I had already cleaned the Throttle Body a couple of weeks ago so that was good. The original air filter I took out was dirty but not too bad as I keep up with my truck's maintenance. I've been doing maintenance on my vehicles since I got my first car in 1980, so I really wasn't expecting much as far as performance went. What I got was a BIG ZERO, the truck idles a little better but that's it! No performance difference at all, except that the new intake it looks better then the original. Save your money, spend it on something worthwhile!

Easy to install. Not very loud on my 04 Yukon. Looks good. I do think this needs a top shield to help from pulling from the motor hot air and more from the fender. I will update after I tweek this to see if it matters

You can feel the difference not from a dead stop but highway pulls and definitely in the higher rpms. Not gonna know your socks off but you will feel and tell a difference. The exhaust has a little deeper tone. Plus it looks nice in the engine bay. Install took an hour for me but it was my first time ever putting an intake on. Just follow the instructions and use common sense and you'll get it.

Easy install on 2006 Silverado 5.3 Vortec. Highly recommended. Instructions were dead on.

Quick and very easy install. It says 45 minutes for install but I was done in about 25. Looks very nice and I have all ready noticed a change in acceleration. Although I did just install it and have not yet given it a lengthy run for a test (gas mileage, towing, etc) I am pleased and I think it will do very well.
