Sometimes this style pump is your only cost effective option. If you can't use gravity or squeezing, try this pump. For me, it worked better than the flimsy no-name brand pumps from the local parts store I've used in years past. I recommend inspection and modification prior to use to avoid surprise complications.
The nozzle at the end of the output hose has a very restrictive opening. I suspect it might cause failures pumping thicker fluids like gear oil, so I removed it. The only use I can imagine for that nozzle is pumping ATF into a narrow dipstick tube. The input tube provided was about right for a 1 gal coolant bottle, I added an extra inch of vinyl and a zip tie to reach the bottom of a standard gallon jug.

Bought this to fill the power transfer unit gear oil on an all wheel drive Ford Flex. It screws onto the bottle of gear oil, in my case Mobil One, and filled up the PTU in less than a minute. Very handy to have around for jobs like these.

The seller is fine. Product arrived ontime. However, the design appears to let the pump come all the way out when attached to the 1 gallon jug. makes a much bigger mess than just pouring the liquid using a funnel, I will toss this one away and look for a different design.
A must for adding fluid to differentials, tranfer cases, and manual transmissions!

I purchased this pump to add fluid to my 1994 Jeep Wrangler's front and rear differentials, transfer case, and manual transmission. It worked great with these thicker fluids. And it comes with different length suction tubes to work with different bottles of fluid.

Used it with a gallon container for gear oil, it's for a quart but still works with the large bottle just won't screw on, the pump works fine. Glad to have this and know I can use a quart bottle if I want the fit but that doesn't matter to me so long as it will pump the oil as I need it to.
