We have owned the original for several years but this one with numbers printed on it is so much easier. The whole set is so much smaller that it takes less space when packing for travel. Only negative is no score cards included but I am sure they can be ordered. If you have not played this game, you need to purchase this version.
What a great set of dominoes!

We love this set! Instead of different colored dots on the dominoes (which we already had) these have colored WRITTEN NUMBERS (i.e. 3, 4,5, etc.)!! SO much easier to see! The tiles are a little small, too, taking up less table space. Highly recommended!!
Perfect for Cruise

Received set within two days from USPS. The set weighs 1.8 pounds vs my regular size set that weighs almost 5 pounds. I purchased this set for my upcoming cruise. It is perfect. Also the 6's and 9's are completely different colors, a big plus. My regular set's 6's and 9's colors are pink and red, too similar and causes confusion.

I bought these to play on our cruise. The tables in public areas on ships are quite small so I knew a regular set of dominoes would not work well. I bought this set hoping for the best but not thinking they would be very good quality for the low price - they were perfect! We had four players and drinks on the table and everything fit. The dominoes also stand up on their sides without requiring a stand. The only downside we all commented on was the 9s and 6s; it would have been nice if they had underlined both numbers instead of just one. It was confusing at times. Also, not really a downside but just an observation - the trains actually should be a bit smaller in size because when placed on the track they block the view of the tiles in the game. The whole set weighs in at just under 2 pounds and everything fits easily back into it's original case each time. We played dominoes everyday we were at sea and had a blast! We kept hearing people pass us saying - ooooh, they are playing dominoes! :) Highly recommend for traveling!
Good travel version but could be better

This a good travel version of the popular Mexican Train domino game. It weights 1.75 lb compared to the full set of 4.25 lb - a 60% reduction. The volume is also considerably smaller than the full set. The tiles are about the same thickness as the full set, so they stand well on their sides. The weight reduction comes from the case, and the length & width reduction of the tiles, but the travel version tiles are still good sized. The numbers are recessed and painted, so they will not rub off when playing the game. The numbers on the tiles are numeric on the travel version compared to dots on the full set. As others have said, it just takes a little getting used to. I gave it 4 stars because it is a good travel version, but it could be better. I would like it lighter (for airplane travel), and the 8 train markers should be 8 different colors. My set came with 3 green markers.
