Good for Odor Control
Krystle Frost✓ Verified Purchase•August 9, 2023
I purchased this odor eliminator because I had some serious cat odor issues and everyone rated this as fantastic.
Backstory:
I just adopted 2 more kittens from the Humane Society in my area. I had painters plastic drop cloths laying in the living room because I was going to be painting in there within the next month and didn't want to waste them. I found the kittens had peed ALL over the plastic several times and it created quite a cat pee odor in the area. The cat pee never even touched the carpet but it sure smelled like it did!
Back to now:
I sprayed this over the entire area and actually ground it into the carpet with a scrub brush. The cats sniffed the area and casually walked away. When my guy came home, he dropped off his things in the kitchen, walked into the dining room and said, "Huh, smells good in here, I like it. What did you do?" I showed him the spray and he was all for it. He's pretty sensitive to fake smells that can become overwhelming. This really does have a much more pleasant odor, especially after drying.
So...it works. And we're fans!

Stopped house accidents dead in their tracks

When I adopted my dog, we were living in a house, and she was allowed to go in and out of the house into the yard many times a day. When we moved into an apartment last Fall, she had a difficult time adjusting to having limited opportunities to potty and having to go on a schedule. Adjusting to a new schedule + the stress of the move and a new environment caused her to have some accidents in the house, which was expected and understandable. Fast forward a few months, and she's still going potty in the house sometimes, which did surprise me. It got to be enough of a problem and frustration that I looked to the internet for answers. This product was cheaper than some of the comparable ones, and I liked that it was unscented and good for both cats and dogs. When it came in the mail, I lightly sprayed all of the carpet in the apartment with this before I went to bed. She hasn't had an accident in the house since! There was also a couple of days when she was throwing up in her crate, and after I sprayed this in her crate, she didn't throw up again (that one may be a coincidence though). I haven't really tested this on stains, but I've been really impressed with the way it's turned around some bad habits she developed. If only it would keep her from chewing!
Only thing that works better is having no pets at all

Many years ago, we adopted an abandoned cat who was, unbeknownst to us at the time, ill. Within a few weeks of taking her in, she stopped using the litter box and began "going" in corners and under furniture, etc. We had, at the time, 2 younger cats that unfortunately picked up this habit, as cats will do (and any cat owner who has had one that marked or sprayed can attest that once one starts, they all do). Within a year, we actually had 13 cats in our care, by taking in 3 for a neighbor while they relocated and one of them was pregnant (again, unbeknownst to us). It was a nightmare: because of the sick kitty we had had, now we had 13 cats, 6 of which were adults and "going" anywhere BUT the litter box.
As such, we tried nearly everything on the market, and every "home solution" we could find. There were only 3 things that ever worked: Nature's Miracle, but the amount needed to get rid of THAT MUCH urine smell ALL THE TIME made the price astronomical; a mix of Listerene, pine sol and fabric softener - but even the addition of the fabric softener didn't completely soften the smell of the other 2 chemicals, and often the treated item ended up smelling worse than it had started out; and this humble product we found at Wal-mart. It worked so well that we each carried one with us, one in the car, kids had small ones in backpacks, the works. Then one day, we couldn't find it at Wal-Mart. When I asked a sales associate, they looked into it and said Wal-Mart had discontinued carrying it. I literally wept.
We no longer have the insane amount of cats, and no longer have such a problem... but we got a new puppy recently, and before he was potty trained he messed on our electric blanket one night. Being essentially unwashable, I began the search for something to take the smell out of the foot area of said electric blanket. I decided to search online to see if the product was still made and just not carried by Wal-Mart, or if it was completely discontinued, and was elated to find it here on Amazon.
To me, this product is worth its weight in gold. I just hope that if it is ever truly unavailable, I somehow miraculously never need it again.

Works good on tough odors

I have an old cat that seems to have lost her litter box training and has been using one area of carpet right next to our chairs in the living room. I began smelling the urine odor the got worse and worse and then finally located the right spot. I sprayed this and noticed an immediate reduction in the smell and then sprayed again an hour or so later. The smell was gone after that. But I noticed it again the next day and sprayed again. Then I realized the cat had returned and kept using that area. I put down a throw rug and the cat kept using the same area but on the throw rug. I sprayed the throw rug several times a day to prevent any odor and then the cat quit using that spot. I put the throw rug down near the front door a few days later and I have just noticed that the cat is using the throw rug occasionally by the door. She isn't using the spot near our chairs anymore and I think it was because of the odor eliminating effect of this product. Like I said, she is an old cat, now hyperthyroid, and the problem with her urinating in the house started with the hyperthyroid problem and this winter when she might have thought it was too cold for her to go outside through her cat door. I will keep using this product because it is natural and leaves no odor.
This Saved My Fancy Futon!
Candi✓ Verified Purchase•July 18, 2023
I finally found something that actually gets rid of pee smell permanently! I have a fancy futon that I use as a couch because my condo is too small for much else. I normally let my dog chill on it because she's well trained. Well unexpectedly while she was napping on it, a dying tree in front of my home fell and crashed through my front window. It scared her so much that she emptied herself on the futon. If I was sitting there I would've too! I tried everything from baking soda to vinegar but those only temporarily mask the smell. It got to the point I was pricing out new futon cushions which aren't cheap for a good quality one. After research I kept seeing this as a solution so I gave it try. After just a few sprays the smell was gone! Then it stayed gone! I'm so happy and I saved a ton of money!
