Great gig bag for drum stands
SCARON90✓ Verified Purchase•October 31, 2017
This bag isn't awesome fits all my drum stands in it. The bag is a little heavy fully loaded but it is what it is. I really like the soft lining on the inside of the bag to protect the stands. Definently a high quality bag that seems like it can handle the abuse of being on the road. I have only used it a couple times now but it has worked great!
Nice size bag, Cheap plastic strap clips.

I gig quite often, This bag is big and can hold a lot. The main reason i purchased was because it was long enough so that i didn't have to completely break down my stands, just fold in the legs and boom. The one HUGE bummer is that i bought this bag at the end of april, the clip for the strap broke on sep. 29th. The reason is broke is the clips are made of cheap plastic, if they were metal clips im pretty sure this bag would be awesome.
(for reference, I had 3 cymbals stands (med-light weight), hi hat stand, snare stand, floor tom legs in the bag when clip broke, same amount of gear i had carried in the same bag for months.)

I am a gigging jazz drummer. I eat hardware cases for breakfast. This thing wont last 6 months for me. The inside is lined with soft velvet. Are you kidding me? Hahahaha my hardware will shred it like cotton candy.
THAT BEING SAID:
Positives: It's really big. Really nice that I can put my whole latest giant DW hihat stand in it, along with anything else coming to the gig. It hasn't torn yet! It fits nicely on my bassdrum, on a small push cart.
Negatives: Pretty painful to carry with a full load. There is ZERO support, this is like a tent bag. It needs a backing inside it on the bottom, no velvet, and some thicker canvas.
Meanwhile I will use it until its eminent destruction. :)
EDIT - It finally ripped. Id say it was a solid purchase! Lasted long enough to justify the buy. (April 28, 2017)

The best hardware case I've ever used

I've been playing in bands for over 20 years and I've been through several hardware cases. The most recent was an SKB hard shell with the pull out handle and rollers. It lasted me three summers before the straps broke, which isn't nearly good enough considering what I paid. It was awkward on uneven terrain, tough getting up and down stairs, and of course ungodly heavy.
This Gator case is everything the description and positive reviews say it is. Even though it's soft, the nylon is really tough and I have no doubt will stand up to plenty of abuse. The design is ingenious. It stands solidly upright whether full or empty, making loading and unloading a breeze. The frame is solid metal and the wheels are large enough to not get caught on rocks, ribbed truck beds, uneven floors, etc. I have to get this thing in and out of a pickup truck and the well placed handles on the front and bottom make that as easy as it can be.
Along with all that, there are pockets all over to put your smaller items in so they don't get torn up rattling around with your big hardware.
I love this case. My guitar player even commented on what a smart design it is...so there you go...it's such a great case that a guitar player noticed.

I have used many different drum hardware carts and bags over the years, and this has one big advantage- because it stands upright, I can load and unload it while standing or sitting, which saves a lot of wear and tear on my back. It holds 2 snare stands (I mount my 1 small tom on a snare stand), 3 cymbal stands, hi hat stand, and my throne, including seat. It is not big enough for some throne seats, such as the Soundseat. It also cannot hold my base drum pedal. It has several outer pockets for stick bags or other small stands, mics, floor tom legs, and small percussion instruments like a cowbell. I have owned several of these in the past and was disappointed in the poor construction. On one the wheels broke and I had to replace them. On another the wooden base began cracking, and the canvas material began to fray and small holes appeared. But, I'm still using it to save my back!
