I have used digital units previously, but this analog unit seems to work better because of the quick response time. Lets you know right away, when you are locked on to satellite with a tone. Easy to fine tune using the knob and the meter. I was able to get the highest strength reading on my dish that I have ever gotten. You don't always have to spend a lot to get a good working tool. I recommend.

I was trying to find a satellite with my more expensive digital meter that has all kinds of bells and whistles such as full video decoding. Hours on the roof and I couldn't find a single satellite. When I got this analog meter for a tenth of the price, it worked immediately. Just by listening to the tone I can find a satellite in a few minutes. Then I can scan it with my digital meter to find out which satellite it is. With a few tries, I can find the desired satellite quickly. If you're going to be installing a satellite, you should definitely get this device.
