I wish Good Seasons still made fat-free dry mix italian, but since they don't, I buy this and make it without adding oil. Excellent value as this stuff is super expensive by the 'individual pack' in stores.

I bought these packets because it represents a good savings over the grocery stores in my area which often don't have the boxed multi-packs.
This is a good salad dressing base, and I vary it with different oils, and vinegars. The best part is that it emulsifies whatever combination I use.
My favorite is extra virgin olive oil with red wine vinegar, but have used pecan, walnut, coconut and vegetable oils, and apple cider, rice, and champagne vinegar for different tastes.
Good Seasons make a couple other flavor but this one is my favorite.

I don't know why Amazon asked me to review this. It's hard to review something I use so often. This is my favorite Italian salad dressing, and I use it on all kinds of salads. It also makes a nice dip for bread. I recommend making it with a good grade of olive oil; any other kind of oil seems to detract from its flavor. Apple cider vinegar is the only vinegar to use. Once I absentmindedly made it with white vinegar. YUCK! It is well worth buying and keeping on hand at all times.

Family has used this dressing for decades. Glad Amazon is selling now! It's not cheap but not pricey compared to store brands. Just mix oil vinegar and water with seasoning packet and you will have a dressing that many people will ask " what dressing is this! I want to make it at my house! It's so good!!!" Really, vice purchased cruet' for a few of my friends BC they liked it so much... :). Good to have a great tasting dressing with real ingredients... No preservatives or junk added. :)

You can use this packet for just about anything. I use shallot vinegar and extra virgin olive oil to make my dressing. I add some cayenne or red pepper flakes to give it a little kick. It is also great as a dip mix. Just mix with sour cream and spices, leave in the frig overnight. It can used as a marinade. Play with some recipes to get the most from this product.
