I took this when I was already sick to help speed up recovery. It didn't seem to do a whole lot for me. So many other people praise this stuff though so I'm a little confused. This may work better if you take it everyday. Like it may prevent you from getting sick, but for getting over a cold quickly, it didn't work for me.

I am not normally one to write a review, but this stuff is amazing! My kids all had coughs and when this came in I gave it to them the recommended three times daily for active use. The next day I only heard them cough maybe once! It was amazing! I have always heard good stuff about black elderberry but now this is a staple in our household!

Am currently in a funk over Sambucol syrup, meaning I like both versions standard original or enhanced. This one is strong very robust rich flavor whereas other version is mild to me that is. I really have no preference as far as both flavors because the outcome is the same to hinder or halt onset cold like symptoms. Overall, will continue to purchase Sambucol products because it is highly favorable in my house. Currently I dish it out to my sister, mother and myself with no side effects from any of us.

Since I initially used the adult version for my child and it's thicker, the kids version seemed less thick for my liking , but it may be fine for your child. My child did better with the adult version. Still an awesome product because of the berries. I use it to build his immune system for the winter. Love it.
