My 4 year old son wanted a pull dog like his baby brother. This is visually distinct from the fisher price, so no arguments about which is who's. Very cute, wood instead of plastic is nice.

I think that this is a great toy. My daughter is 8 months old and loves pulling the dog, and loves even more watching someone else pull the dog all around her. She giggles with glee and chases it! There were a lot of reviews complaining that this toy was not exciting or looked like a real dog. How many pull toys actually look like animals. I am not one for bright over the top plastic toys that leave nothing to the imagination. If you like classic wooden toys that are painted with water based paints that are safe for your child, then this is the toy for you.

I bought the duck version for my cousins daughter and the dog for our daughter. They both really like them. The only problem being that the string is very short so we tied extra string to it so it can be pulled along. Obviously the string is short for safety reasons. No one wants a strangled baby, so I'm not recommending you tie more string to it, just telling you what we did.

Although made iin china, this doggy is made very well, and states to have no toxins and totally kid safe. I bought this for my 13 month old daughter but so far i've played with it more than she has. I think she'll grow into it. The string to pull the doggy is very short.
