I have been shooting video with this using a Canon 60d. I must say that walking around with the camera is much more comfortable using this thing. It does not completely eliminate shake from the picture but it looks and feels a lot better. Walking around with this makes you feel more professional too. I feel like I can comfortably walk around with the Camcaddie for a longer period of time vs. holding the camera in your hand. Very solid with Camera mounted along with Rode Videomic mounted on top. You can loosen screw on bottom to easily move the camera side to side to adjust the articulating screen in and out as well. I would say for anyone shooting video with DSLR, pick one up, its a handy little device..
Awesome product, 4 because not perfect

Pairs extremely well with a camcorder. It gives really good handling as it gives many different locations to grab is, so you can keep the camera steady while holding if above your head or down low. Lowering center of gravity also helps keep the cam steady. 4 stars because it isn't the most perfect thing in the world: No way to ensure the camera is mounted 100% straight so you have to do your best eyeballing, no good way to store the screw when there's no camera, would be nice to see better materials used, etc. But these are minor issues, it's definitely worth getting
The best scorpion out there!

I bought this hoping to have a decent upgrade from my other camera stabilizer and it didn't disappoint!
Pros:
Very lightweight, doesn't feel like I'm carrying a 10 pound ball around
The grip used for the handle works very well, I can get into low angles very easily.
Camera is secured very tight to base and doesn't budge at all.
The material it's made out of doesn't feel flimsy, feels very sturdy and doesn't give.
Cons:
The hotshoe isn't built into the camera handle so if you have a mic or lights, you have to buy the hotshoe accessory.
Overall:
Very much worth the money. You might be paying a little bit more compared to cheaper versions but the Cam Caddie Scorpion is the leader in my opinion. Worth every penny.

This is a great product, I read that some people are disappointed with the material, thinking that is cheap plastic. So, I put the plastic to a test, attaching a Manfrotto 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate under it.
The Cam Caddie had a very resistant and condensed plastic, I notice that as I was drilling 6 holes on it, the drill-bits where filled with the dense plastic on it, from which I had to clean it every half an inch or so. Also, I had to use 3 drill-bit sizes to get to the right size hole.
I screwed the Quick Release Plate with a couple 3/4 of inch screws, the plastic did not crack or broke on the process, and the result is a very strong and steady attachment for the tripod and hand-held The Cam Caddie.
Plastic have the advantage of absorb some of the hand-shake motion, make it much lighter than metal, and do not scratch your gear.
The Cam Caddie defenely has the great advantage to hand-held your camera from many places around its arc.
Well, I hope this help to decide to make your decision.
Cheers!
Note: this is not an stabilizer, The Cam Caddie helps with some of the hand-shake, but do not eliminate the hand-motion.

I purchased a Cam Caddie Scorpion Original Video Camera Stabilizing Handle with Included Smartphone and GoPro Compatible Mounts - Black (0CC-0100-00) for both myself and my wife immediately before our trip to Quebec City to take photos for our upcoming book. We were excited and found the Cam Caddie to be very easy to use. We were asked a lot of questions by fellow tourists as we walked around Old Quebec City with our cameras in hand.
One of the best features of the Cam Caddie is the ability to carry your camera with one hand. It made shooting video a breeze, because we could turn on the camera and then walk naturally while filming. Taking shots with a telephoto lens was so much easier because I could use two hands spread further apart to minimize the shaking that usually occurs.
We both took a lot of photos while we were in Quebec and now we are ready to plan our next book photo shoot, because we know how much more we can do with the Cam Caddie in our photographer's toolbox!
