Same design, same possible problems
CautiousApril 21, 2018
Replaced the fill valve on my Kohler Wellworth Round Toilet. It's an OEM part, so it fits and works just fine. However, it's also the same design as the fill valve that had to be replaced and that is a bit of a problem, as my toilet is only a couple years old. I didn't expect to have to replace the fill valve so soon, particularly at about 10% of the original toilet's cost. The problem with the fill valve is the float, which leaks ever so slightly and allows water to get in there. After a while, the float will no longer float and the fill valve will not turn off. There is no way to repair the fill valve and it's got to be replaced. The same design means the possibility of the same problem in a few years. Kohler needs to redesign the thing.
No Need To Call A Plumber!...
Bindy Sue FrønkünschteinMarch 19, 2018
Purchased this item, and watched a "how to" video on YT. Drained the toilet tank.. Took the old part out, put this baby in its place. No problems at all! The kicker is, due to injury, I did this one-handed! So, yes, it's easy! Later, the toilet hissed and ran a bit, due to float valve needing a turn. Turning it solved that immediately. Also, hose had popped out of top of canister in tank, causing bowl to only fill half as much as it's supposed to. Popped hose back in, turned float a tad toward canister, and PRESTO! A full bowl for all! Oh happy day!...
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
JZJune 25, 2017
Do not waste your time with this. I could not adjust the height on the one they sent me. I moved the grey locking sleeve up as suggested in the other comments but it still would not adjust. It just spins in place. Not giving you a replacement refill tube is sooo cheap. Talk about trying to save a penny. The little multi colored restrictors are a joke. Which one do I use?

I had replaced my original fill valve with a Fluidmaster. The Fluidmaster works fine but is a little noisier than my original Kohler. That is why I bought this. However, in reading another review it does not appear this new Kohler is as quiet as the original.

So a big waste of time for me. I returned it.
Buy the Fluidmaster Fill Valve Marked Kohler
MenauhantMay 19, 2017
Purchased this from Amazon as a used item that was complete with all parts. Shipped on time and received within 2 days. The fill hose was missing from the contents so I just used the one from the one that I was replacing. The replaced one was as this one is a Fluidmaster fill valve even though it was supposed to be the same version as the one Fluidmaster makes and brands Kohler it was loud and that is why I replaced it. I removed and installed this one in less than 10 mins. This was a great deal and solved my issue.
Worked perfectly, didn't even have to disconnect the old one

This turned out to be less than a ten minute repair, mainly because I was replacing the same part that had quit filling the tank properly after 12 years of use.

If you are in this same situation, note that as long as the base that connects to the water supply is in good shape (likely), you can just slide the lock ring toward the top of the valve assembly, pull the assembly off the base, and then replace it with the same part from the package. You don't even have to disconnect the water supply, drain the tank, worry about leaks, etc. There are YouTube videos on how to do this if needed.
