Order this Henschel hat based on favorable reviews and color represented by picture on Amazon. What I received wasn't even close to picture. Plus size was WAY to large for me. According to Henschel sizing guide, I should take a XL, but i could put three fingers inside hat band.Consider ordering smaller size. Is it khaki? Yes, solid like it was spray painted. No contrast at all. It is being returned for a different color and smaller, hope this one fits. BTW, hat band is not one inch. Closer to 3/4.

I like the hat a lot. It is very well made with great fit and material. The sowing workmanship is excellent. I only give it 4 stars for two reasons. The ad says crushable, but it is not something you can pack without ruining the look. I will not pop back into shape. Second, the brim is huge...a little too large and I did not notice that in the photos (it was called out inthe specs, som really more my fault.)

Great hats!!! I love em. This is my 2nd one. With that said, beware of the sizing issues that so many people have had. For my 1st hat, I bought a medium, which the sizing chart said I would need for my head measurement. But it was a bit tight, and left an impression line on my forehead when I removed the hat. When I got my 2nd hat, I ordered a large. It was too big and sat on the tops of my ears. I saw a video on YouTube, where it is suggested to use 1 or more pieces of weather stripping between the inside of the band and hat. That did the trick, and you can not see the stripping from the outside vent holes.

Wow, great hat. The size I chose (same as my Tilley) fits perfectly. I love the large mesh area that doesn't look like mesh and yet lets in lots of cooling air. And the great packability (crushability) will let me take it to Hawaii in my suitcase. You can tell these Henschel folks know how to make a good quality hat. The leather chin cord is a bit stiff but of course is very helpful in a stiff breeze.

My head size is about 7-7/8" and the 2XL is just a little snug, but not too bad. I'm keeping it.

The hat looks better than the picture, in my opinion. The "Earth" color is actually a nice solid brown while the picture on the product's page looked more like golden/orange.

I usually get straw hats but the straw deteriorates fairly quickly. This hat has the look of a straw hat but should last a lot longer, plus it can be folded, put in the washing machine, etc.
