This lid is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I had it in my cart for weeks because the reviews were so mixed, but I'm really glad I took a chance and bought it. I have an Aqueon brand 2.5 gallon, so I'm not sure if the reviewers that said it didn't fit their aquariums had a different company, but mine is the same as this top. I actually also have a bit of space for wires in-between the end of the lid and the top plastic pieces in my aquarium, and I know that was another issues reviewers had. Honestly though, if you're just looking for a glass aquatic lid for an Aqueon 2.5 gallon, this is perfect and exactly what you're looking for. My Betta approves too :)

I really like versa tops. They are so easy to set up, look nice, prevent evaporation and fish escape, and can be modified for filters. This is my second one for my second tank, and if I had a third tank I would buy another versa top.

Fits my Aqueon 5.5 gallon tank perfectly. I like being able to see through the top of my aquarium lid. Use something strong like tin snips to cut the plastic trim piece to size. I use a Nicrew LED fixture on top of this.

My aquarium must be from a different manufacturer. This is an Aqueon brand lid, and it's about a quarter-inch too short in both directions to neatly fit the top of my aquarium. It works, it stays in place and has no gaps, but it isn't the best-looking thing.

The product description specifically says "Each Versa-Top features a clear vinyl back strip that can be easily cut to custom fit your accessories." That is simply not true. It is a single solid piece of glass that cover's the entire aquarium without any room for even an air tube or cord for a heater. The only reason I bought it was for the ability to customize the vinyl on the cover. Wasted money.
