Not enough protection

I bought these shorts for long rides around the city on my road bike. While I do like that you can not see through them, I have several other issues with them. The elastic bands on the legs are WAY too tight on me. I understand that they are there to keep the shorts in place, and they do, but they also feel like they are going to simultaneously cut my legs off. Another issue I have is that I don't feel there is enough frontal padding for me. There is a lot more padding in the buttocks region, but not so much in the front. I still come back from rides with a sore vageegee, which was unfortunately the original reason I bought these.
Improves Riding Comfort, But Beware...

These padded cycling briefs definitely make my bike rides MUCH more comfortable. I am able to ride longer with a lot less discomfort. My only complaint is that they are very tight around the leg openings. My legs are pretty average size, but they fit like a sausage casing. Meaning, when I looked in the mirror, I could see where my legs were indented from this product, even through the leggings I was wearing. The waist fit me perfectly, so going up another size would have made them too big. I think that these would work best for someone who has legs that are thinner than average. I would not recommend them to anyone with average or larger than average thighs.
In Love With These Liners

Fits true to size for the most part. I feel that it is vital to understand that people can weigh the same, but have different shapes. That being said, I feel these liners run true to size. They are snug on the elastic part of the thigh but in "my opinion" are comfy for my rides and I feel is created to help keep from rising for a better ride and less discomfort- If sized right these will be perfect. I cannot review for larger sizes. I am a size 3 juniors & 4 in woman's jeans. I am 5"8, 139 lbs. I measures my legs around the area where the elastic is and my upper thigh around in that (specific area) is approximately 20" around, waist is 27", hips 36". I consider myself athletic, with muscular legs. As I do plyometrics, step aerobics, run 6 miles four times a week, and bike. Small fits me perfect. I did pull the elastic when I received these for a small stretch and was awesome/comfortable on a 13.70 mile road ride along with shea-butter for comfort. I love that I can change any of my regular running outfits into cycling outfits with these liners. I hope some can gain insight from this reviews on how to order their size. As I feel It's hard ordering sizes online.
Nice product - but LADIES, READ THE LAST LINE OF THIS REVIEW.

These shorts/underwear are very good quality. Nice fabric, with not-too-tight bands around the legs to keep them from riding up, and good waist elastic to keep them from slipping. I am not a bike riding enthusiast, but have been putting in 25-30 mile rides to prepare for a charity ride. I was suffering from sore (ahem) "parts", and the experienced riders said extra padding would make the difference. Wore them for the first bike ride yesterday, and I can't really say that I noticed a difference after 26 miles. I still felt that seat! However, this morning I can sit fairly comfortably, so perhaps they did help. Ladies, I'll tell you one thing. These block all air flow to that neighborhood, so make a plan to put them on right before the ride, and get them off ASAP after!
Great protection, but A WORD OF WARNING...

I really am glad I bought these since my saddle sores were getting angry and fierce. I ride at least two hours per day and they help quite a bit.
But, they are MUCH SHORTER than pictured and they have the tightest possible leg bands I've ever felt. I am 5'5" tall and I weigh 105, I have hardly any body fat at all and these babies squeeze my thighs so badly it creates a muffin-too effect. It's weird as heck. I can only imagine if you had any fat at all there it would HURT!
i had to cut the elastic off for relief. Waste of money.
