We're using this currently for our pond waterfall, and it's working wonderfully. It needs to be sitting on a firm platform of some type and leveling is critical. The hose from the filter connects to the lower back of the unit, and pumps through a bag of lava rocks. We have a large 2 inch thick flat piece of slate sitting on top and the unit does not show any signs of buckling.
