I installed this railing easily. It is secure and is a great confidence builder in my tight attic. The Versa Lift Attic Ladder Safety Railing came on time, extremely well packaged, and with clear simple instructions. This is easily a one-person job. If I need to bring in a large object too big to get past the Versa Lift, I can easily remove either or both railings without affecting the screws securing it to the attic joists. The Versa Lift design is remarkably thought out. Great product.
I am 69 years old. I do not have a problem going into or out of my attic yet. But as I get older I may need more security. So I installed the Versa Lift as a preventive measure.
However, I find it so useful and convenient, I recommend it for everyone regardless your sure footedness.

Excellent safety rail. Slender enough not to get in the way, but sturdy enough to act as a barrier around the open hole in the attic floor. The safety rail is adjustable and fits our attic door nicely. Shipping was fast, assembly was straightforward and installation was easy with a good drill. It is especially nice to hold onto the vertical rail when starting to back down the stairs. I recommend it highly; only wish we had bought it sooner

Got it installed yesterday and we couldn't be more pleased. When considering purchase we hesitated a few days because of price. Then decided to go ahead with the purchase justifying the price as an investment in safety at our age. Started mid afternoon one day and finished the morning of the next. Came with explicit directions and good diagrams. And every bolt. screw and tap needed was accounted for. Up to now we had to crawl on our knees onto the attic floor then crawl a bit further over to something substantial to lift our weight. Now we enter our attic standing upright. Should have bought this years ago but wasn't aware it existed.

A bit pricey but worth it if you consider the effect of falling 9 feet onto a concrete floor. When you open the package you'll see that it is probably priced correctly. It is clearly heavy duty. The packing is excellent with each piece of steel individually wrapped in plastic and secured to heavy cardboard sheet. The items are nicely painted and all holes are pre-drilled. Extra mounting hardware is included which helps if you assembling it in a poorly lit attic. The instructions are excellent. Assembly is easy. Once installed it makes entering and exiting the attic safe and easy with no reaching for attic rafters. Peace of mind alone is worth the cost.
