I purchased these plates for my sister's wedding last month at an outdoor venue. The reason I chose this particular plate over the large selection available on Amazon was that these particular plates have a large lip. The large lip allows for some security when carrying food on the plate and since the wedding took place outdoors in an area that had tree roots and other various obstacles, I felt less food would end up on the ground, and I was right. The large lip also allowed for people to pile a little more food on. Also, the plates were perfect for fruit salad which can be extremely difficult to carry on a regular plate.
The plates are plenty sturdy and there were no issues with breakage of anything like that.
I highly recommend these plates and will likely purchase them again, as they were a great price in addition to being a decent plate.
