A solid three stars. Relatively easy to put together. It is of average, assembly-level quality, not great, but not terrible.

I had high hopes for this bench, however:
- it came damaged on arrival (nothing major like a leg missing, but little scratches on sides that show).
- the baskets don't line up well and make the whole thing look "off."
- it was a beast to put together. I am mechanically inclined and it still took ~1.5 hours to do on my own, so I'd recommend looping in a friend or spouse to help since you really need a few hands... That is, if you buy it, which, to be clear, I DON'T recommend at this point.
- looks kinda cheap overall. Since I added this piece to my entry way, that's the first thing people see when they enter my home There are much less expensive benches out there I suspect look just as good or better.

Nice looking bench. Small, but sturdy and I'm 165. Arrived packaged well, with no damage. Assembly wasn't all that difficult by myself, and I'm not very handy, but it took me a while to put it together, but I took plenty of breaks and took my time. For some reason I couldn't attach the top seat panel, but I'm OK with it, its so heavy that it stays in place and doesn't move when sitting on it or getting up. I'm using it more for looks than anything else, but it definetly can be sat on. It was well worth the money.
Assembling this was frustrating. It is smaller than expected ...

Assembling this was frustrating. It is smaller than expected even if you consider the measurements prior to purchase. I really just wanted a bench with storage near my front door so I can drop my bag there instead of leaving it on the dining room table. I read the reviews about the baskets scratching the surface so I also hot glued black felt fabric to the bottom of the compartments. You can't tell that they're there, score!
I mean for the price and free shipping (prime) to Hawaii I couldn't beat the price. If I had gone to Ross or a store similar I probably wouldn't have paid more than $75 for it.

I wish I hadn't bought so quickly. This bench is nice but I don't think it is going to hold up to people sitting on it repeatedly in my entryway. Maybe for kids it will, but if you have an adult over 200 lbs, it gives enough in the middle to make me nervous when sat on.
Also, I will be "roughing" it up on the edges soon with sandpaper as it is already very "dinged up" from passersby. : (
The baskets are very nice, but tend to scrape along the shelf even after I put felt pads on them. Maybe I'll put bigger ones on. . .
