I got this to replace the factory cable in our 79 CJ5 that was sticking at a quarter throttle. It took care of the problem and to my absolute disbelief added 5 horse Power since it's braided steel and shiney!

I have used 4 or so of them. They are really good for the price. Compared to some of the other vendors such as Lokar, this is half as much.
That said, I rated it 4 stars. I had one of the 4 break the plastic insert at the gas pedal. I am hoping it was a fluke since I never had one break on any car with any brand cable.
Note, Always push the metal sleeve up on the cable, cut it, and then slide it down. If you take it off and cut you will never get it back on.

It looks like it is made to duplicate a Chevy original cable. Even the plastic pieces are identical to the factory originals on my 72 C20. It is the exact same as my original on the pedal end and it fit my original bracket at the carb side but I bought a different one anyway since I did a manual to auto swap at the same time and needed the bracket for the kick-down cable. It just took a little trimming and it fit as if it were stock. As with any wire rope or braided wire tape it first and use a cut off wheel. Don't try to cut with hand tools or it will fray and you won't be able to get it into the fittings.

Installation was very straightforward and results looked professional. However, the supplied plastic fitting for the engine mounted bracket is/was not of the same quality as the rest of the kit's components. Mine broke allowing the braided cable to drop at a 90 deg. angle to the bracket. This cause the cable to open the carb and the ride was on! Fortunately, I was able to get the clutch and brake depressed averting a near crash. There are comparable priced throttle kits on Amazon that do not have any plastic pieces that break so easily. I'm buying an "˜all steel - no plastic' kit next and suggest you consider doing the same unless you like living a little dangerously "¦.
