This is a great item! Bought it to shorten my four-footed family members' nails. Both of them hated the sound of a dremel tool.They have very strong nails, which means when I try to clip the nails, it's a battle, and the nails are still really sharp. This hand file is easy to use, really takes down the nail quickly, and doesn't bother them as much as other methods.

I have only bought Nicholson files for over 30 years. They make them right. Take care of a Nicholson file and it will last a very long time. Few hooks are properly sharp out of the box. My Nicholson files take care of that with just a couple of swipes.
