Love the stool - excellent quality - but lousy description
Rebecca Bonner✓ Verified PurchaseMay 18, 2018
Love the stool - excellent quality - but lousy description! I wanted to replace a stool that I have worn out. Measured the height as suggested in the description - floor to bottom of seat. Mine was 24" so that's what I ordered. Paid my son to put it together. But it's about 5" shorter and I can't use it! Floor to bottom of seat is under 20". So I'm out the cost of the chair, cost of getting it put together, and the cost of ordering a taller bar stool. $250. Not a pleasant experience.
Far Better Construction, Woodwork & Quality Than Expected for this Price Point. Comfortable and Good Looking Chairs
Amazon Customer✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 18, 2018
I was not expecting the quality for the cost of these. The wood work is extremely well finished, very expensive looking and well built. The amount of curved wood on the loops and chair base parts are substantial and tongue and groove construction on the full loops. You have to look close to see it, but amazing. Every screw was in the hardware bags and the inset threads in all fasteners are true and tight. These will hold up a long time. I would not expect the seating surface to hold of quite as well. That seems to be the only cheaped out part. It looks like the covering is thin and might wear quickly. The padding is firm and supportive, and the chairs are very comfortable at a normal bar height counter or table. Posture correct certainly. Every cut (back to the woodwork) and bolt hole are perfectly done so that the chair snugs up perfectly once all of the bolts are in place. Seriously good quality for furniture that a consumer assembles. The loops are very strong and will not break or sag like other lower rungs on square chairs. They are much stronger. Assembly was time consuming, but not too difficult. An added help was a hex-head screwdriver setup, or my fingers and hands would not have survived the 36 bolts per chair with the provided hex head little tool. The little tool is necessary for some fits, but I really needed the extra help from a better tool where it could be used. I did one step different than the instructions for each chair that made the assembly much easier for me. I put the chair back, the round seat part AND the loop below that with the swivel part together first. Then I put the lower loop onto the four uprights and then fit that up under the chair as it was upside down for the final fit. Much easier than trying to find the four most difficult bolt holes in the whole assembly for last while trying to fish your head through the cage...
Attractive Chairs but Will Show the Slightest Use!

After reading numerous reviews & comparing many barstools, we ordered the Boraam August Count Height Swivel Stools in cherry finish. On a positive note, I didn't find the chairs difficult to assemble. All that is needed is a little past experience putting things together & a bit of patience. The included components are pretty straight forward & would be hard to mix up. One of the keys of assembly is putting the parts together loosely & tightening only after all of that type of fastener has been used. As for the chairs, they seem sturdy enough & match our solid cherry kitchen island. Brand new, the chairs appeared to be attractive & functional. But, I can not give the Boraam barstools five stars because of their durability & finish issues. The rich cherry finish is apparently thinly applied over a mystery wood. If you are not very careful, these chairs will show use. I found out very quickly that a belt that I was wearing was going to leave scratches on the back. I never have had this problem with any chair that we own. One of the legs had a split in the end, that I noticed while assembling the chair. Quite frankly, after a few weeks, I am not so sure that the chairs are going hold up or remain nice looking. If & when we replace these barstools, we will probably go with a highly rated "saddle" style with no back to worry about! Yes, the price point for these chairs is reasonable but durability is definitely a major concern.
They're very nicely finished and look good

I first purchased two of these stools, then added one more. They're very nicely finished and look good. Once assembled they're very strong and comfortable for a swiveling stool. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is there's a warning included not to put your fingers in the gap between the swiveling chair and the base. That's all well and good but the fact is that there is a gap where if you're sitting with your arms down and holding on the the base, you can fairly easily put a finger in a spot that once you swivel can be dangerous. I see this more as a problem for those with children in the house than for adults, but it does seem that the design could have had some kind of overlap so the gap was not exposed.
Hope you've built furniture before!

Real nice but WHY do we have to build every piece of furniture we buy??? Its not fun. The very last screw I put in wouldn't go in and as I was trying to tighten it, it ripped out the threaded piece and now it won't go in at all. Ugh! I long for the days you could walk into a furniture store and buy something already made. (Yes I know furniture stores still exist... but they don't have what I want and are so expensive!) ALSO! the directions included in the box start at step 5 even though they say Step 1! Download the directions from the Amazon page. That is insane! These are made in Vietnam.

Can't they just ship it in two pieces?
