Good quality - will need to off-gas a bit but doesn't mildew easily at all.

This is the second time I've purchased this shower curtain. It does need to off-gas a bit once removed from packaging but I love the thicker quality of the item. It does not mildew easily at all. I have shoulder arthritis and I HATE changing shower curtains. My last one is still good. I've wiped off a little mildew, though (after well over a year of use!). The mildew wiped right off at this point. I only bought a back-up because I got a promo code for re-ordering an item sold by Amazon through Alexa (not something you're likely to come across - and not something I'd wait for). If you need a shower curtain and don't mind a little initial odor, than go for it.
the best shower curtain liner

This is my second purchase of this shower liner. It is a really nice heavy vinyl with strong evenly spaced grommets which makes it hang down perfectly. Even though is is a heavy vinyl, it is still pretty transparent, which I like because it allows light to penetrate which will help inhibit mildew. The first one I bought lasted close to 6 yrs with no tears or mildew. The only reason I bought a new one because I was moving. This is the best shower curtain liner I have ever used, and I've tried quite a few over the years. Highly recommend.
No bad odor

After reading the reviews I was a little afraid to order this due to the comments regarding the smell. I quit smoking about 4 years ago and my smeller works overtime. As a matter of fact if you believe in reincarnation, I can smell so good I'll come back as a Beagle. After I received the shower curtain it did not have the order that some reviews talk about. At least to me it doesn't. One thing that is nice about it is there are no magnets at the bottom but the curtain does not blow in against you when you shower. Regarding the wrinkles from where it was folded in shipping the curtain has only been up one day and it looks like they are starting to fade. I bought it for the mold proof but only having it for one day I cannot rate that. Bottom line so far I'm very pleased.
I like mine enough that I am ordering another. Rust proof grommets!

UPDATED Jan. 2017:
My favorite thing about this liner is that the grommets NEVER rust. So if you have a nice shower curtain and you don't want rust bleed from a cheap shower curtain liner on your nice shower curtain, this is a good choice!
I got a new one and to me, it had no smell when I opened it. I am sensitive to smells.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I see there are mixed reviews on here, so this is only my experience. I like this liner. It does not have magnets at the bottom, but I have found I don't need them as the liner hangs well (once you give it some time after initially removing it from the package).
As I live in a hot and humid climate, I do not expect it to remain mildew free unless I wipe it down (dry it off) every time I shower. As long as I did this, it did not mildew. I got lazy a few months ago and stopped doing that. Now I need another one. :)
It requires minimal care to keep it mildew free in this humid climate--I just make sure it is dried off and that my air conditioning or fan circulates the air to remove humidity after a shower. It is not a thin, cheap $3 liner and I like that. I got the white one.
I had mine three years, and it remained mildew free until I stopped wiping it down. Anything will mildew in a humid climate if it is not kept dry.
They shouldn't call their product "No More Mildew," however. It is misleading. The package states "mildew resistant," not "mildew proof." Calling it "No More Mildew" implies that one has to do nothing to the shower curtain and it will not grow mildew, and that is not the case. The directions do say to wipe with a damp cloth (I wipe it with a dry towel to remove all traces of moisture after every shower).

Very Heavy Weight - Great Value!

Ok so these where not purchased to be used as shower liners/curtains so this review may be a bit different. First let me tell you these are the best shower curtains I have ever purchased! For those wondering they are very heavy gauge, not thin at all, nice weight and strong, and have metal grommets.
I need to have my bath enclosure replaced however just don't have the funds to have the walls torn out and new put in and tiled at this time so instead of looking at the ugly surround that is in there now I used 2 of the Maytex liners to cover the 3 walls in my shower/tub area. I used white Duck Brand tape and taped from the top by the ceiling and sides by the tub. I have a window in the center so cut out for that and taped around it. There is one seam where the 2 curtains meet but with the white Duck tape it isn't that noticeable. The Duck tape is working like a charm holding it in place. I have the curtain draped down into the tub so it works out pretty good.
So far there is no mold or mildew on the curtains and it has been about 6 weeks since it went up. The curtains do have a strong smell to them the first day or two but after that it seems to have dissipated so it wasn't a big deal.
All I can say is for right now I'm happy with the results and even happier that I saved about $1500 replacing my tub/shower lol.
