Beautiful wine glasses
Barry Li✓ Verified Purchase•February 10, 2018
Beautiful wine glasses. Very nice ring when you touch the glasses. Very light and thin, but still feel confident holding them.
Sadly I knocked one of the glasses off the counter, but the other one has gone through many dishwasher cycles without any signs of wear.

I really like these wine glasses!

These are very nice glasses! I am not a wine glass aficionado, so I can't really compare this to too many other glasses, but compared to the ones that I have used, these make a notable difference. The aromas (as I'll call them) really come out with the wine, and the glass feels really nice in my hand. Sipping is also easier with these as well, as I noticed that when sipping from some wine glasses, some wine will trail down the side of the glass, where as with these it isn't really an issue. And I didn't even think that a wine glass can make a difference when it comes to swirling wine, but these do make a difference, and I really like how much easier and pleasant it is to swirl the wine in these glasses.
One word of caution: As others have noted, these are very thin glasses, so they need to be handled with much care. When washing these, DO NOT wash them with hot water, as they can shatter due to the thermal shock. And DO NOT put these in the dishwasher either! DO only hand-wash these glasses, and DO only use either warm or cool water to wash these!
In conclusion, these are very nice glasses, and I highly recommend these to anyone!

Questionable Quality- buyer beware

I have always been loyal to Riedel for their quality and "feel". However, the last 2 times I have purchased these glasses through Amazon, they have turned out to be quite flimsy. I need to say that I am always VERY careful when handling and cleaning these glasses, never even putting them in the dishwasher. I always carefully hand wash and dry. But the ones I have purchased through Amazon have broken quite easily when I have been washing them. It makes me believe that maybe the glasses I'm getting through Amazon are knock offs or counterfeit. I have never had this issue in 20 years when buying Riedel glasses through their website or a reputable retailer. Buyer beware!
If you want a dressy stem, you can't purchase a better quality glass then these!

Ordered mid-2015 and it's April 2017 and they're still going, even with being dropped in a cast-iron sink! One glass was broken when bumped to the floor. It survived the fall, but the heavy maple peppermill that fell on it immediately after broke the bowl. They go through the dishwasher and come out sparkling. Also, should you forget to rinse these after drinking wine, the small dried amount of wine in the bottom doesn't etch the glass unlike leaded crystal. The stem is ornate, kind of Arts and Crafts geometric styled - very classy. The narrow bowl of white wine is just as classy as the red wine. I highly recommend these crystal glasses!
A Pinot Noir lover's glass

The difference in aroma and flavor of even a $15 PN, between this glass and a cheaper Burgundy glass such as Lenox or Mikasa, is just stunning. It approximately doubles the perceived quality of the wine in many cases. All the subtleties become more noticeable, and any degree of crudeness is minimized. Other light-bodied reds benefit, too.
