for profiling dull, cheap steel

Bought as a primary sharpener upon recommendation from a friend. However, for profiling dull, cheap steel, I need a more aggressive grit. For my German steel it's brilliant and easy to use & store.

Great medium stone to finish or step to higher grits

Nice medium cutting speed and leaves a sharp edge able to jump straight to a 6000 or even stropping compound. This stone + chromium oxide compound on cardboard can give a sharp and mirror polished edge for cheap.
