I bought this to keep the foot pedal of my sewing machine from traveling. The foot pedal stays in place on the mat, however, the mat moves on the carpet. The mat helps some but not as much as I had hoped.

I have three of these, one yellow and one green in this size and a larger yellow. I got the small sizes to place in my desk chair to keep me from slipping down in my chair, to help me keep my posture. Work perfectly. The only downside is if I'm wearing shorts and my skin is against it, then it sticks to me when I get up. There's no pain from pulling it off, just an annoyance. The big one I have under my desk with a box of cards on top that I use for a foot rest. That plastic box doesn't go anywhere. If needed, I would definitely buy again.
Keeps me from sliding out of my office chair

This is an expensive mat but it solved the problem of me or my wife sliding out of our leather office chair. The chair has a slight forward lean and it is just enough to cause you to slide your butt off the seat. I put this pad down and we sit on it. The mat effectively grips against the chair leather and creates enough friction to keep whomever is seated from sliding forward. For the purpose it looks great, but looks a little weird.
Note to the company making them: There is a big product opportunity making these with a more rounded shape suited a good looking office chair base. Take one to an office supply place, figure out the common chair seat dimensions and make them in colors to fit. You'll fill an unfulfilled product need. Your mat is great for this.
