promaster copy stand
mark west•April 22, 2013
This product was not as I expected. The plastic gear on the post has already broke. The system is still operable, but it will not be long before the plastic gear breaks altogether. The system needs a metal gear on the post and not plstic. One screw has already broken off and will have to be drilled out and then retapped for another screw.
Exactly what I need and more.

It is too bad that these items are scarce because of lack of demand and cost so much. I had to bite the proverbial bullet and go for it. Thankfully it is just what I needed.
Okay copy stand--with minor flaws.

The copy stand is satisfactory. The lights are adjustable in various directions/lengths, and are easy to adjust. I like the easy access on/off switch on each light's cable. Setup was easy.
Cons: the rubber pads smell like tires, even after a week. They smelled up the room and I decided not to use them. I will try to find replacements or use the copy stand without them.
The two light extensions do not tighten into their grooves symetrically. The angles are never the same. Perhaps this isn't important. This is my first experience with a copy stand, but was expecting better quality for $219.
