You want the + version because it makes it hurt less. I like the cream version most of the time because it doesn't leave things as goopy/slimy as the gel. The antibiotic part works - I've had scrapes get kind of an unhealthy red looking color and putting this stuff on quickly returns everything to a more healthy pink color.
I have little kids and they know if they get scraped up to ask for this because it doesn't hurt and it makes things feel better right away (because it's + and also keeps the air off) and doesn't feel weird after. Awesome.

I love neosporin! Honestly, I use it for when I pop my pimples or squeeze or white or black head. First ill wash my face, extract grossness, rinse face, toner to shrink pores (I use rose water/witch hazel) then neosposrin. Helps with not leaving scars on my face :)

I have used this for years. At first chance after getting a wound, I clean it, use some sort of disinfectant on it, and cover (bandage) it. This is one of the products I have used for years on minor wounds when there is a nagging, minor pain involved that is easily aggravated (such as on hands, elbows...).
A little goes a long way. Whenever I travel, I make a point of throwing a tube of this and/or Foille Medicated Ointment along with a few bandages into my toiletries bag. Compact, inexpensive insurance for those little injuries that could otherwise turn into a nagging inconvenience or, worse, a serious infection if left untreated.
