I dissected one myself to see what I was getting my nieces into before giving it to them and the smallest pellet had 3 mouse skeletons in it (identifiable by the little booklet). I would say it took me about an hour and a half to open, clean, and organize my bones. The kit is a bit basic but a lot of fun! I recommend rubber gloves.
With this one kit I was able to better teach 6 kids all about owls

Paired up 2 kids to each pellet (x3) in a small homeschool co-op. One dug through the pellet while the other identified and reassembled the bones. With this one kit I was able to better teach 6 kids all about owls. They loved it!

My 10 yr old nephew is interested in all things animals and science. Purchased this as a gift for him and he loved it. He couldn't stop talking about all the bones he found in the first pellet he did, and when I did a second one with him I couldn't stop! Found two skulls in just that one pellet, along with so many more bones. The chart that's included makes it pretty easy to identify what animal the bones belonged to. Such a cool gift.
