I got this to try for camping or emergency. Tried it right out of the can plane it was OK. Then I toasted and buttered it and it was fantastic! I had three slices every day with breakfast. Now I crave it from time to time randomly. Thick but fluffy and fresh.

I remember eating this as a kid. I am trying to build some food storage so I decided to order some. I had forgotten how yummy it is. It takes like gingerbread cake to me. My 18 year old granddaughter loved it too. I am glad they have it on subscription.

I've always loved this stuff and it is hard to find in the stores now, so I was so happy to find a good place to buy it by the case. I shared it with my daughter's family, they love it too. I've made this from scratch in the crock pot, and that's good too, but this is easier.

I think this stuff is better now than it was 60+ years ago when my dad would grab a can off the shelf on our weekly shopping trip.( Not in a covered wagon ) just sayin' . My mom would heat it up over boiling water ( Yes, no mocrowave [Are those things not wonderful !]) And real butter.
I had not seen the Brown Bread in the market for years, and had more or less forgotten about it. Watching an episode of "How it's made" a couple of weeks ago there was a segment on Brown Bread, and at the end at the labeler I saw the brand, B&M Brown Bread. Nuf said I figured that if it exists anywhere Amazon would have it! My iPad was in front of me, so I ended up with a 12 pac and when it arrived I devoured a full can that night. A pound of brown bread is a lot at one sitting. It is still a great treat. You can replace the English muffin in eggs Benedict with it. I soak it in milk also.

We love Brown Bread and the prices here on Amazon for 12 cans is excellent. The dates on the product have always been well into the future so we have not had to worry about using it up in time before it expired. I don't know what class of food this would be but we have it as a treat, we toast it and have it as a quick breakfast with a nice cup of coffee and we serve it with dinner. Hotdogs, beans and brown bread just make a great dinner on one of those cold nights.
