I read thoroughly and was aware of the minimal items that would be included and the need to purchase the majority of the ingredients so I didn't have great expectations but thought it would be a good start but was terribly disappointed despite my low expectations. It came shipped in a bubble wrap lined envelope so the box was slightly squished making it look even more "cheap" than it was. (Which I guess you don't get much for this price but I thought for containers and a cookbook it would be a starting point...) Even my husband said I couldn't give it as a gift - even with the additional items. I immediately ordered a new one. Hoping if it isn't a little better, maybe I can combine the two and with the ingredients, it will make a giveable gift.

I bought this kit for my daughters for Christmas. We finally got around to opening it and with my very excited daughters we found that we could not make one activity today. After opening it to make at least one of the listed activities we found that EVERY single recipes require at least two or more other ingredients to make. I understand not everything can be included in the kit. However, it only includes glitter, citric acid and containers. You cannot make one thing with just that. Unfortunately, this should be advertised a little better as this kit looks like you can make a mask or bath bomb with what is in the kit. If you plan to have a "spa night" with your children don't bother with this kit unless you already have the 20+ other ingredients it requires or plan to buy them before opening it. It is very disheartening to open a spa kit and then tell your children they cannot do any of the activities because you do not have any of the ingredients it requires. I'm sure this kit would be fun if it included at least one doable recipe. All in all I would not recommend.

I haven't made anything yet but I am looking forward to having some fun with my grandkids! The kit is mostly the recipe book, but there are many great things to make and you are teaching science and math skills at the same time! I also ordered some flower petals and a set of bath bomb molds to make things even better. How great that the girls will be able to make gifts to give this Christmas, and to let their teachers know how much they appreciate all they do for them! I took one star off because I think for the price more tools or some essential oils should be in the kit.

My daughter (9 yrs old) liked this when she received it as a Christmas gift. She got bored a couple nights later and pulled it out. Then she LOVED it. She was running around the kitchen getting ingredients and made a bath bomb. Then she ran upstairs to use it right away. After that she made chocolate lip gloss. She had so much fun with this set. It does not come with all of the ingredients that you need to make the items however it is simple stuff that most kitchens will already have.

My 9 year-old daughter and I had fun with this the week after Christmas. If you buy it as a gift, you may want to look through the recipe booklet so you can buy a few things in advance (such as avocado or scented oil). There's nothing too terribly exotic there or hard to find, but you may not have it all at home. She doesn't use it often, but the times she's used it she seems to like it.
