My 12 year old grandson loved this gift and got started on it immediately on Christmas morning. He was pretty good at following the instructions, but I did have to help him through them a few times, so I suggest there is an adult around to help the kid if he/she is working on it. He wore them proudly once they were done. They are a little narrow for our wide footed grandson, but being leather, it does stretch, and a little Murphy's Oil Soap rubbed into the leather while it is being worn with help to stretch it out even more f needed.
