Great tent for higher altitudes or any chilly location.

Great for my needs, since it has very few mesh areas that are permanently open.
Where I live summers are cold and foggy, camping by the ocean freezing, and higher altitudes always cold at night. These days most tents (except those designed for mountaineering) have huge areas of open mesh for "ventilation". Old fashioned tents used to zip up entirely closed, and you could unzip windows and doors at will to expose the mesh and let air in.
I bought this after the season and just put it up once to make sure it wasn't defective. It was more complex than the most basic tents, but I did it alone in about 20 minutes the first time. It will certainly be faster with practice. It is very well made with details like heavyweight zippers to avoid snagging.
I'm looking forwards to finally being being comfortable and warm while camping.

We bought this tent because we do a couple sojourns in nasty rainy/snowy weather each year. The rain fly covers the tent completely and has kept us dry in some crazy coastal storms. The bit front vestibule (we call it the "porch") is fantastic for muddy boots and even better for the dog bed. You can completely enclose the porch with the fly so our dog stayed protected from wind/snow/rain and we didn't have to snuggle a stinky camping pooch.
The reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is because it's kind of tricky to set up with just one person...even a little bit with 2 as well. Tricky, but not impossible! There is plenty of room inside for a blow-up double mattress, bags and other gear. It's also great in the summer without the rainfly with plenty of mesh to look out and see the stars. Oh! And there is a door on each side which is helpful. There is a flap on the rainfly that allows entrance/exit from the other door as well.
