These are very easy to assemble. However, I noticed that if the brackets are in the configuration where they are positioned above the shelf, it tends to pull the track out a bit. They are fine if the brackets are located below the shelf. I have placed close to 100 pounds on them, both configurations, and there is very little flex in the shelf itself.

Used gladiator products for my entire garage. Built to last and look sharp. I'm sure you could build out a cheaper garage with wood from your local hardware store but the gladiator system can hold a ton of weight and it looks professional. I don't see why you would want to spend the time or money on anything else. All in all storing items on your garage wall is cheaper than buying a shed and gladiator has worked out even better than I expected.

Once I unboxed the 45" Gladiator shelf, I understood the premium price! It is really well-made and substantial, including the brackets and the way they capture the shelf edge. Super easy to put together, and complements the rest of the Gladiator GarageWorks family of cabinets.

The reason I give it 4 out of 5 is because the design of the shelve requires your GearWall or GearTrack installation to be PERFECTLY flat. Well, in the real world, wall studs have some variation, and the section of my GearWall where I wanted to hang the shelf had variation in the studs causing a 5/32-inch out-of-plane in my GearWall panel. The shelf has a welded lip on it to lock onto the GearWall slats, and it's so closely sized to the thickness of the slat edge that it cannot tolerate any variation! Fortunately for me, I was hanging the shelf from the upper-most section of my GearWall so I was able to remove the panel and put some shims behind it to make it perfectly flat when reinstalled, which let me get the shelf hung and finish my organizing project. These shelves work well with the Gladiator system and I found they were easy to install. One of mine arrived with a small bend in one of the underside mid-shelf support ribs but this was easily straightened using a couple of blocks of wood and a c-clamp. The biggest thing for me is that these shelves cannot be installed closer than 18" apart on the GearWall panels due to the vertical depth of the wall attachment diagonal braces. Depending on what you are storing this could result in a significant amount of wasted space. This shelf could be easily redesigned with a diagonal brace with less vertical depth.

They seem to be very durable. The only issue we had was the home we purchased left the Gladiator wall strips on the wall but they were not spaced for the shelving. So we hooked to higher shelf and because strips were to far apart and it seems to work well. They are reversible so can have shelf as pictured with brackets under or drop down and have shelf under. Very sturdy design and easy to put together.
