Like they say, sand the handle

I haven't actually tested how long ice lasts, but it seems reasonable. The scoop is a nice touch instead of the just as clumsy tongs that give you less ice for the effort. As other reviewers have said, sand the handle to remove the sharp edge. I am not sure you would really cut yourself on the handle but it sure feels like you could so I immediately took some 80 grit to it on both edges.

great ice bucket except handles are very rough, a little sanding is required on handles.

Good quality and well insulated ice bucket. I like the little scoop and nonskid bottom too. Yeah, I guess the handle is a little sharp, but it's not really an issue for me. I will use this thing a handful of times per year when we have parties.

Love this ice bucket. Great flip lid! Super scoop so you do not have to handle the ice with your hands. Used this at camp a lot for serving mixed drinks. Super deal for the money.
