For me, I use this under a sink in my wet bar, I do not have floor drain lines, as, mine are located 3 feet off the floor. My Saniflo pumps the "waste Water" from the sink through 40' of 3/4" PVC pipe.
It works excellent. This is my third unit in the past 6 years.
What I have learned from past experiences and why I've been through 3 of them, is, this pump is NOT a grinder pump, don't expect it to chew up food, it's not a garbage disposal.
2nd, since it does not just flow downward to a gravity drain like the rest of your home, it actually needs to PUMP the fluid, so don't keep pouring sugary type drinks into it(like soda) or other, even beer and alcohol WITHOUT running water with it.
If you do, the sugar base will foul the internal float and prevent it from turning on and the fluids will back up in your sink.
YOU MUST RUN WATER WHEN POURING ANYTHING IN THE DRAIN OTHER THAN WATER ITSELF.
Trust me, I've replaced 2 of these already.
If you watch what goes into it, your good to go.
I do now.
I have no issues with cold water.
I have no issues with hot water.
I have no issues with the "Pumping" noise it makes.
The Saniflo works great.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

This is a great little pump that fits under the utility sink and removes my washer waste water with no trouble or problems...just love it.
Bad first impression.

Device appears to be a used pump.
I just hooked it up tonight, 11/11/2017. I was on medical leave after it arrived.
The pump needs to be tapped to make it come on, and it is for about 2 seconds at a time, and it leaks.
When it pumps, it pumps good, but makes grinding noises and other sounds.
I'm sure that a new pump will be shipped ASAP after I contact the appropriate department.
Definitely not a good first good impression, but things like this do happen.
Pumps well...A few annoying problems

The pump itself works really well. Two issues bring the review down. First, the check valve is really low quality (we are concerned about failure) and is prone to leaking around the clamps. The second problem is that the cord is really short. We would have preferred to pug it in further away from the sink. Yes, we put this on a outlet that will trip off it it gets wet, but I would rather have installed thae outlet well away from where it could get wet from the sink and far from the crappy check valve. In both cases, these issues are simply an issue of cutting corners with quality.
Great Product, Slightly Noisy

Works great for the bar I built in my basement. Only con is it's slightly noisy, but the cabinet it's in muffles the sound a lot and it's only noisy for a couple seconds when it kicks on to run.
Make sure you use two 45* elbows instead of one 90* elbow for the discharge pipe. I skimmed over that line in the instruction booklet and had to make some changes after noticing it was leaking.
