Dried ribbons before arrival :(

The ribbon matched my old Remington 6 Noiseless, but the color is almost faded away... is the ribbon old and dried? I would like a new one as soon as possible. My son had birthday and I would love to give him an old typewriter with WORKING ribbon spools. Thanks in advance.

I knew from another review that I would have to rewind the ribbon for use on my Remington portable, so I was prepared. After doing that, my 90 year machine works like new! I could not be more pleased with this product. The price was reasonable, the shipping was fast, and I received exactly what I expected.

I had to re-wind the tape onto original spools, but it works great on my restored Remington Model 2 portable typewriter. This was a gift for my daughter, and it is a big hit with her friends at college, who had never seen an manual typewriter. Ribbon is red/black and works perfectly.
