Great little sander. I have more that 10 sanders but this one fills some special needs

For the money, this thing is pretty nice! Runs like a champ and does everything I need it to do for a small wood working shop.

If you are a small need sander or hobbyist this system is for you. I make handmade (hand turned) custom shaving brushes and this machine is perfect for my shop. I did not need a large disc or belt sander but something in this size. It works great and for my wood stock size it is really oversized for me. I usually turn pieces in the nature of 2" square by no more than 5". You will read some reviews this machine will bog down from work but I have not seen it one bit. Keep in mind your intended goal and what you do most. But if you do small projects/works this will more than suffice.

Had a Grizzly with a rotary sander that was exposed - no shroud. My wife was nervous using it. This one is much safer. Plus, it was easy to setup and adjust. Cut a couple of 1/4 x 2 inch plywood L's to trap the feet so that it won't wander. Hot glued these to the top of my bench where I will use it the most. Easy enough to remove these and relocate.

The dust collection system works pretty well although it does take up about 1/3 of the surface of the belt sander. Most of this can be removed at a cost of reducing the effectiveness of the dust collection. Probably the biggest drawback to the tool is that you must have adequate room for the dust collection bag and since this is to the rear in my case and I only have a 24 inch deep bench, it is somewhat cramped but still works.

ok, I've been using this sander for a month. Had several issue with sander. First, as with other reviews, the dust collection is horrible even connected to a shop vac or 1 1/2 hp duct collector. When I used this for the first time, I could easily bog the sander down. In fact, the sander would stop with very little pressure. After checking it out, I found that the paint on the platen/table below the belt was melting and building up on the table and backside of the sanding belt. To resolve this issue, I literally sanded almost all the paint on the table and then applied paste wax, that seemed to work. Next issue was I started to get a vibration. It was the top roller(tension side). I could not figure it out. I removed that roller, took it apart, cleaned it and vibration went away. Go figure? I did call tech support and they were awesome and helpful. They were going to send me new rollers, etc. but I declined. In fact they sent me two new sanding belts for my inconvenience. The sander now runs great and is very powerful. It is very difficult now to bog down the sander. If you buy one, hopefully you won't have the same issues I had.
Although the issues I had, I still gave it a 4 star because the sander now works great.
