Junk. Doesn't retract. Have to push down on it. Hard. The base is too narrow, makes it fairly tippy. Bad fit with the handle. Spend the extra and get a better one. Wouldn't trust it to hold 6 tons.

I have bought 2 different brands and tonnage of these. The first brand had the handle so that it can be carried upright. That is far easier than having a handle built into the side. So I don't like the handle on this jack.
What I do like about this jack that the other jack did not have is that the top of this jack can be screwed up to touch what you are trying to raise and then you can use the hydraulic part to raise it. Essentially, this allow the jack to go up farther than the other jack, which is a big plus.
It does seem well made and it did life what it was intended to lift.

The jack only has 4.75" of throw. This is the distance it will actually lift something. The length of the piston fully extended. It also has a 2.25" screw out extension that will help you get the most out of the limited throw, but will not actually lift anything. If your sidewall is more than 5" high and you have a complete flat this little fellow will not raise your axle enough to get the new wheel and tire on. This jack will be fine if you are running 30 series tires but for anything taller I'd look elsewhere.

I agree with a few other reviewers about the jack part not wanting to go down. I didn't think I would have to open the hydraulic reservoir to release air in the fluid after a few uses but when you're steadily pumping the handle and the jack isn't lifting anymore, you have to. Also I just thought it would be a little bigger, but that's my fault. I didn't read the product dimensions before hand. I don't have huge hands either. All my work gloves are in a size Large.

Followed instructions to bleed out any air, and there was none. Put under my 15,000 pound trailer and it lifted no sweat. It is a heavy rated jack so it does go up slowly as expected. Yes when it comes down it stop where ever weight is no longer on it pushing down, so you have to manually finish it. Great product larger button head and larger base make it sturdy.
