Great pump.

I replace my cam phasers, tensioners and timing chain so I decided to do a oil pump change aswell and this upgraded pump is doing a great job.

I have not started the engine yet but it installed after taking a short cut easier than taking off the oil pan per instructions. Very high quality pump, I used the lower pressure spring supplied in the box. If you have a 2005 to 2010 4.6l 3 v you need this pump! The stock pump is aluminum and will flex with oil pressure and high temperature, the Melling pump will not resulting in 30% more volume. I will report back if there are any issues.

Except for a positive limit of oil pressure at 60 psi (my selection of bypass spring), can't tell any difference in idle speed oil pressure in my 5.4L, 3V OHC over the Melling 340. The blogs indicated to expect an increase from sub 20 psi up to 25 psi. However, very good at 1000 rpm and above.

Great pump, hope it helps my 5.4 with it's high oil demands. Just did my timing set and vvt solenoids so it was a no-brainer while I was there.

dont know much but do know oil keeps my engine running. good oil that is. so extra 100 now to not only prevent future issues but higher flow high pressure more oil happier truck , happier me, peace of mind, 100 extra well spent
