I used this item to get rid of a strong stale smell when the air conditioner of a 2008 Avalon was turned on. It was a sweaty smell that could not passed unnoticed but would dissipate after a few minutes of use. The car had this odor anytime the A/C ran but most of it was cleared away by spraying Lysol Disinfectant into the A/C under the wipers. The startup was the problem.. I removed the cabin air filter and pushed the hose of this cleaner as far down as I could and sprayed. When it started to back up, I removed the hose and turned on the A/C to suck down the foam. I emptied the can and let it sit for 15 minutes. I turned on A/C and dirty foam came out of the drain tube on the bottom of the car. I ran the A/C (recirc off) for about five minutes, windows down, and then shut it off. After a half hour or so I ran the A/C and got a strong cleaning solution smell which went away as it dried I suppose. Since then, no odor, no chemical smell, just clean smelling air with the A/C

It works. I had a mold smell whenever i turned on the ac in my 3 year old nissan frontier. I had to take the wheel off to get the hose in the evaporator drain. I pinched the rubber drain tube around the hose and sprayed the entire can in and let it foam up for 5 or 6 minutes then let all the liquid and foam run out. I'd say its about 90% better now. I have a sensitive nose so i can still smell a tiny whiff of something when the ac comes on but its much better. its been a few weeks now and the smell hasn't come back or gotten worse so I'm happy with it. The chemical in the can is,as far as i can tell, carpet and upholstery cleaner. So if I need to treat it again i saved the spray cap and tube and ill get a $4 can of carpet cleaner and swap the caps and save me ten bucks and shipping if applicable.
