I am a pediatrician and I use the hammer to do basic neuro reflexes. The younger patients find it very appealing and I can use it as a distraction when they seem anxious.
Adorable

Absolutely adorable. I purchased this as part of a graduation gift for my niece who will be starting a residency in pediatric medicine.

Purchased one in 2013. Misplaced it last month, so just ordered my second one.
This is a fantastic hammer to keep the kids busy, and warm them up to the idea of reflex hammers. I usually hand this to toddlers to play with, as I check their reflexes using a real Trommer hammer.
It does seem to work nicely for neonates though.

All of my kids in clinic LOVE this dinosaur. It's a great way to get them to smile when I pull it out of my pocket to check their reflexes. They find it completely amusing and even the babies want to play with it!
