This makes the picture bad quality, but I can still play the games ...

Had old Genesis, and this worked, but it doesn't have the full amount of pins on the black end that were present on the original Sega cord. This makes the picture bad quality, but I can still play the games with original sound, so that's all I care about. I went to 4 different video game resale shops and scoured the internet. No one is making the original cord, anymore, and there are a LOT of people claiming they have produced a better cord, but they are all like this product: a few pins short.
This Cord Is Cool

After not knowing where I stashed my Genesis for the past 6 years I finally found it, crammed in the corner of the basement storage room in the house I'm moving out of. Needless to say I was stoked.
I couldn't wait to see all of its 16 bit glory on my new 55" UHD TV. With memories of Sonic the Hedgehog and Road Rash II running through my head I hooked it up and hit the on switch. To my dismay what I got was a picture full of lines and fuzziness. I tried and tried to wiggle and finesse the RF cable to get the picture to clear up but every time I thought I had it and let go of the cable, right back to fuzz.
Then I saw the A/V port that had never been used and looked to the internet for a solution. Low and behold they make this cable that fixes all the issues had with the old RF connector.
The cable arrived, I plugged it in and now everything looks great, well 16 bit great. So now I can enjoy my Genesis in all its glory on something bigger than the 13" screen I had as a kid.
So anyway this cable is great, fixed all the problems I had and I hooked it to a dual audio out cable to get stereo sound. Its sure neat.

A goof up but it worked out anyways

It ended up not fitting in my Genesis. But I had a friend who messed up the same way I did but in reverse. She needed this cable I needed her cable. After we traded cables I was at her house playing oh the memories. We ended up losing track of time and at mid night my hubby called to remind me it was a school night. It worked so well on her Sega. I would recommend this to anyone with her Sega lol.
Yay! Now I can nerd out on my Sega 1!

I have the very first Sega Genesis system to come out still from my childhood. It's always worked, but when I tried to plug it directly into my flat screen, the picture wouldn't come up. So, after being told by other people to buy a new system that'll play it and me being too nostalgic to give up my old school sega, I found this. Such an easy fix. Now I can play Aladdin and Sonic 'til my heart's content.
Works for Sega Master System too!

I just received this today and couldn't be happier! I was given an old Sega Master System for Christmas to add to my collection and it had no AV or RF cable. I wasn't sure this would work so I read the reviews until I found one that said it was the same as the (model 1) Genesis. I also saw some reviews that mention mispackaging issues and they had received a model 2 genesis cable. I just happen to have a model 2 Genesis using the RF so I figured I couldn't lose as it had to work with one my consoles. Lo and behold it is correct cable for the Master System (not sure why it's not advertised as such) and the machine works perfectly! A great addition to my collection for less than $5, thank you!
