Full of pleasant surprises - the handsome foil embossed cover is the same on front and back. For designer geeks, it is a sturdyy smythe sewn binding. Acid-free sustainable forest paper is about a 70# soft white text weight, with plate finish, very nice. The cutouts for the index are strangely shaped -- it leaves a peculiar die-cut on the non-bound side of the page; I would have preferred a regular die-cut tab, but the alphabetical tabs are printed with a lovely dark gold metallic ink that matches the inside cover sheet. The icons are elegant, the lines not overpowering or heavy. All said, very pleased with this book.

The paper is very nice, and it has a thumb index. It looks distinct from my other notebooks, and is easy to spot among my other notebooks. There is printing on the page to indicate areas for:

This is the exact size I needed for my purse. I use old school and my iPhone 6 to store phone numbers and passwords. Everything that was in the large book fit in this book. As others said this picture does not give this book it's full justice. This book is very nice and has a band that you don't see to keep together made on book if you choose to use it.
Like it! I recommend this for a handbag or purse. 3.75" x 5.5" x 0.5"

Got this for my wife after searching the stores for something pretty that would fit in her purse. It's nicely made with sustainable forest products and even prettier than the photo. The "Renaissance" style cover feels like leather and is inlaid with that delicate, gold-colored decorative embossing. The pages are heavyweight and all are cut-out tabbed, about four sheets (8 sides) per letter for most letters. Less common letters are grouped (like E-F, U-V-W, X-Y-Z) Each side has space for three addresses with handy symbols for name, address, home phone, cell, and email address. A couple of nice touches are the handy little envelope/wallet at the back where you can slip a business card or something without fear of losing it and the elastic strap that keeps it closed when it's rattling around in that purse.
Overall size closed is 3.75" x 5.5"x 0.5".
I can't speak to the durability but a) it feels good and b) someone in another post said it is hard wearing.
