Don't know if it was a fluke, but we bought this for under $500. It has proved to be a very worthwhile purchase. Very fun and easy for almost anyone to use.

Pros: No motor to maintain. Anyone can jump in and start using. Works well for fishing to get to tight spots or to stay in one spot. Fits two adults and 4 kids comfortably.

Neutral: The canopy is nice only if the sun hits it just right.

Cons: It is hard to move, outside of water, with one person. Does not track well in water (weight needs to be somewhat balanced so it doesn't pull to one side) - so it doesn't work great solo or you have to sit in the middle and straddle the steering console. Weight also needs to be in the front more so than the back to give the propeller grip on the water.

Storage: We bought a cover (cheap nylon - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OZTPX4/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_80) that feels like it will blow away that has worked okay. We had to prop up the inside with swim noodles to keep water for collecting on the cover. Sometimes we store it upside down, but that is harder to do with one person and feels like it puts more wear on the boat. So storing this is kind of cumbersome compared to a canoe.

Awesome boat! It's light enough for me to drag it down the lake slope to the water w/o needing anyone else's help. The "Bimini" top is fantastic and it does protect you good from the sun unless the sun is setting of course. Easy to pedal and steer although you have to get use to not over steering from one side to another. I have taken 5 kids and myself on it even though it is rated for only 5 people, I sat the extra child (all with life jackets of course) on top of the cooler on the back row. We were all very comfortable. The fishing rod hoders are very welcome and the clean in the front helps you tie a line to it (you get really cheap lines at Amazon) and tie to anything while leaving it in the water. For $550/free shipping/no tax, you can't go wrong. Get this boat today!
