I absolutely adore this thing!!! It looks so cute sitting on my counter and it's perfect for a stick of butter. You do have to be careful when handling it because the top slides around on the bottom and you can easily chip it if you bang them together or set it down too hard, but it stays put on my counter and looks fabulous. Makes me smile every time I look at it!

This beautifully sculpted cow and I have become very good friends. I don't eat butter... she just sits on my kitchen counter; contentedly chewing her cud and reminding me to take my pills.

I love this butter dish! We keep it on the counter and use it every day. I have had it for over a year and it still makes me happy every time I see it. A stick of butter fits just fine under the cow without getting it all buttery on the edges, although the cow lid does not fit snugly against the rim of the base so it slides a little if you carry the dish around. We keep ours on the counter all the time so that is never an issue with us. It washes up great in the dishwasher. As an added bonus, I was delightfully suprised recently to see it in Penny's kitchen in an episode of The Big Bang Theory!

As other reviewers mentioned, the cow does not fit snugly on its base, however I have no problems with it (it never slides away or exposes the butter). It is super pretty to have on the table and the head of the cow allows for an easy grasping. It will only fit a single stick of butter, if more, then it will "drool" on the edges. Very happy with it, heavy enough to not feel like this needs extra special care when manipulating. Washed several times and nothing to report. Made in China, of course, but no quality complaints so far!

I love my cow butter dish. I looked for a long time to find one unique and affordable. I was considering fine china when I realized that our track record with butter dished wasn't so great. So, I went with whimsical. Planning to enjoy this dish for a long time. Moooo...
