She has a nice dryer but prefers the air drying
Vivaldi's Doppelganger✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 10, 2017
My wife was complaining that the plastic clothespins I bought her a year or two ago were falling apart, and she suggested that I buy some of those "old-time wooden ones." So, being the adoring hubby that I am, I bought a set of 100 of these wooden jobs. Immediately, she said, they began to fall apart. She thinks they are made of rotted wood because they fell to pieces as she hung out shirts and pants and sheets and towels and all the usual stuff she washes and dries outside. She has a nice dryer but prefers the air drying. So I'll take her word for it and try to find another set that might work. By the way, whatever happened to those old wooden ones with the springs that, as a kid, I thought would crush my fingers? We were idiots and liked to put them on our fingers to see who could withstand the most pain. (Yes, rocket scientists in the making.) These new ones you can barely feel as they press on your fingers. (I'm still working on the rocket science thing.)
Badly Designed

I purchased two "˜laundry' items from Whitmore, because I have been so impressed with Whitmore shelving, of which I have purchased two different shelves. Both the Withmore Laundry items are crap.

The pop up clothspin bag, while very well constructed, is badly designed. The clip to attach to the laundry line is too small and difficult to attach to the laundry line, even if the laundry line is of small diameter. Pop up, in my experience, implies a means of holding the bag in the compressed state, there is none. The limited hole in the top means one has to concentrate each time one withdraws a clothspin. A zip lock, affixed to the clothsline with a clothspin, is more easily moved and the clothspins are more easily accesssed.

The Whitmor Clip and Drip Hanger w/ 26 Clips is similarly unsuitable. The hanger tends to spontaneously disassemble itself; one of the clips, and one of the hanging "˜chains' (plastic) were disconnected in shipping. The construction is NOT robust.

The Rosiness Stainless Steel Hanging Rack for Laundry Clothesline Drying Clothing with 20 Sturdy Clothespins (Rectangle), which I purchased at the same time is satisfacory, though I would have appreciated a slightly more robust wire for it's construction.
Convenient, well designed, airy . . .

This is a super product. I love to hang laundry outside for the fresh air smell. I'd been using a discarded bleach jug with drainage holes punched in the bottom for a clothespin container. That has now been relegated to the recycle bin! I like wooden spring-type clothespins. They stay outside all year long and get mildewed and need to be bleached every so often. This bag is very spacious, has a solid bottom with two drainage holes, plus the mesh fabric allows air circulation all the time. If there any complaints, it is that it is almost too big. Certainly not a deal breaker. Would definitely buy again.
So-so. Don't think the spring is tight enough - they pop apart too easily, too often.

Meh. I've had these for a while and am liking them less and less as I go. So many have popped apart - and very easily!

I don't think the spring is tight enough. I have taken a couple that popped and worked the spring back in, but I put the bar that is supposed to be on the bottom on top and vice-versa. It's awkward and hard to do, but it can be done! I've marked those with a marker and will see if they stay together better - they certainly feel tighter and sturdier! I'll try to remember to update, but if you don't see anything in a few months, please give me a nudge.
Sturdy classic.

I use these for EVERY thing! Closing bags of all kinds in the kitchen cabinets, freezer, fridge and pantry, attaching items together (such as mittens in a drawer), keeping papers and coupons organized, attaching items to a hanger to keep them from slipping off (like nightgown straps and scarves), organizing paid bills from those still to pay and countless other uses! They are sturdy and cheap so if one does come apart it's no big deal to throw it out (although they are really easy to fix if the spring slips out of the grooves). These may be "old school" but they are priceless in MY house!
