I'm a professional chef with over 20 years experience. This is a machine to avoid. Very disappointed. I've been making pasta for a very very long time. This machine simply doesn't work very poor design. Disappointing. I should have known from the price point. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
Horrible. Don't waste your time or money

Horrible. Don't waste your time or money. Does not do anything close to what it is supposed to do. Flimsy and cheaply made. Tolerances are way off. Supposed to be wood, but instead are cheap plastic rollers that can't grip the dough. All it does is cut pasta into little bits. Better off doing it by hand the old fashioned way with a cavatelli board. Probably be faster too.
Great fast way to make cavatelli, a lot of fun for the family too!

Awesome and very easy to use. Way cheaper than the kitchen aid mixer attachment and just as fast. Made 4 pounds in about an hour (not including making the dough). Great family activity too!
Makes a super 'Mini-Gnocchi' noodle that never met a sauce it didn't like!

I have more fun with this thing! It's worked well for me, once I got my dough dry enough! It needs to be much stiffer than you'd normally use to roll-out into sheets. I processed a whole batch of dough, lightly dusted with semolina flour; lightly froze the 1/2-sheet pan then, using 'snack' size zip bags, I filled those and stuffed them into a larger Zip-loc bag for the freezer. The Snack size makes 1 hearty serving-maybe enough for 2.
Worth the $$$

I just received it, so I have only used it once. The reason I went with this is because I really want the Kitchenaid Pasta Press/Extruder, but it is too expensive, plus I keep reading that the ring inside of it breaks all the time. So, I decided to make gavadeels! I will say first off, I do not care for the recipe (the basic recipe) very much at all...it tastes like nothing. I have made pasta, ravioli, etc. many times, with lots of flavor, so I know that it is the recipe, but a not-so-great recipe included is not a big deal to me. I will just use a different one next time. It works pretty well, but it seemed like I needed to run almost half of it through again because almost every other piece came out as just a little square chunk. I didn't really mind because they are so easy & quick to make, however, it shouldn't do that. It seemed to work better, also, when I rolled it into a rope instead of rolling it out & cutting strips. Maybe it's just a trial & error thing? The lines do go the wrong way for cavatelli, so they do also look like worms a bit, but if you can get past that, you'll be ok. Overall, for $35, not a bad purchase...quick & easy to make...but try a different recipe...maybe with eggs or ricotta?
